Hôtel du Golf in Saint-Omer: Planning permission granted

Planning permission for the Hôtel du Golf in Saint-Omer, applied for by Najeti Hôtels et Golfs, was granted on 26 April 2007. The 8th hotel in the Najeti chain, it is also the first new build as they purchased their other hotels from the previous owners. Work will start in June and the hotel will open its doors in September 2008.

The planning application had previously been submitted to the CDED (Departmental Commission for Commercial Infrastructure) of the département of Pas-de-Calais which authorised the project in January 2007.

The hotel will be built on a 5,000 m2 plot and will comprise 2500 m2 developed space on 3 levels. The 54 rooms, restaurant, bar, fitness room, billiard room, and all facilities place this future hotel in the three star category.

This investment of approximately EUR 6 million euros will create jobs for 30 members of staff. The firm of architects, Robinson & Robinson of Rouen, who already have a number of hotels in their portfolio, have been engaged to carry out this project.

The hotel, which complements the golfing facilities, will blend naturally into the countryside. It is in keeping with the Club House as it shares the same construction materials: brick, horizontal stonework on the ground floor and decorative wood on the upper floors. The four-sided roof is made of flat tiles.

The future Hôtel du Golf in Saint-Omer responds to very real expectations given the popularity of the golfing facilities; the courses are highly-reputed in the golfing world. The large number of British visitors who come to play golf in our region will appreciate having a hotel right next to the green.

In the words of Jean-Jacques DURAND, President of Najeti, "This hotel, with its high-quality amenities, is an absolutely essential complement to the Aa Golf course. Its guests will enjoy unparalleled views of the local landscape. It is a clear plus when it comes to promoting tourism in the Audomarois region".
